Emburse launches pre-approved corporate cards

Emburse, a California based accounts payable automation company, has begun to roll out its Emburse Pay suite, which eventually will include solutions for employee spend, reimbursement and invoice payments. According to the press release, it is the first solution to market from the suite will be pre-approved virtual cards that can be issued within the company’s Chrome River EXPENSE T&E app.

This is the latest in a series of corporate card products launched this year, following the likes of Accrualify partnering with Visa to launch a Corporate Card Module, and a partnership between i2c and Archa to introduce a corporate card programme for SMEs.

Users can submit pre-approval requests in the app and, when approved, the employee will be issued virtual or plastic Emburse Card that can be restricted to a specific timeframe and to set spend limits. When the card is used, the employee will receive a real-time notification to capture an image of the receipt, which will be matched with the transaction record to create expense line item in the expense wallet in the app.

Commercial Payments International reached out to the company seeking clarification on who the company has partnered with to underwrite the Emburse Card, but no reply has been forthcoming at time of publication.
