WEX partners with Onyx CenterSource for B2B payments

WEX, the US-based payment processing company has partnered with Texas-based B2B payments company, Onyx CenterSource for travel business payments. Both the companies will use virtual payments method across transactions for more security in hotel and travel company industries, the press release stated.

In February 2020, WEX had acquired eNett which is a B2B payment solution business in the travel industry and Optal which specializes in B2B transaction optimization.

“The extensive product portfolio and global reach of WEX, combined with their experience in the travel and hospitality market as well as other verticals, made them an attractive partner,” said Mark Dubrow, CEO at Onyx CenterSource. “We are confident that this partnership will extend our capabilities to better serve our clients.”

WEX uses virtual payments which streamline and automate payments domestic and international supplier payments for a diverse range of businesses, the press release said.

“WEX is delighted to be partnering with Onyx CenterSource to drive automation in the travel industry by removing friction from B2B payments while allowing for payment flexibility,” said Heather Andrews, Vice President at WEX.

At the start of the month, WEX had secured $400 million of funding from Warburg Pincus.
