Fintech Survival: Winners and Losers

In the fragile world of private equity and venture capital backed fintech solutions in the commercial B2B payments space, the Covid-19 crisis would appear to be an existential threat. Yet for many fintechs, the crisis presents great opportunity. In a risk on environment, as banks squeeze credit lines to small businesses, alternative lenders and credit providers have potential to provide much needed liquidity. For fintechs in partnerships with banks, there is opportunity to move clients to digital payments and virtual solutions as remote working trends set in. In this webinar we discuss the opportunities for payment fintechs in the sector and the likely losers and winners as the pandemic plays out.

Covid-19’s Impact on Commercial Card Program Management and Use

In Q2 of 2020 RPMG Research Corporation led a survey of commercial card program administrators, in companies across multiple sectors in North America, to determine the top issues and concerns facing end users of card products in the Covid-19 crisis. Conducted by academic Professors Mahendra Gupta and Richard Palmer, the survey reveals how card program management and policies are adapting to pandemic-driven changes in workforce dynamics and the impact these adaptations are having on the use of card credit in B2B payments to suppliers. In this webinar we discuss the findings of the survey with the authors and extend the survey to webinar participants, with online polling and interactive debate.

Leveraging Payments as a Working Capital Solution

Fast virtual payments that shorten the DPO and accelerate the cash conversion cycle are critical for suppliers in an environment where liquidity is tight. Yet customers seeking greater working capital positions might seek to lengthen DPOs, creating a crunch for suppliers. In the current crisis, many companies have found that the DPO is lengthening due to processing inefficiencies, and lack of automation, where AP cannot physically execute payments due to lockdowns and remote working away from offices. In this session, we explore tools to create improved cash conversion cycles by utilising B2B payment solutions that create a win-win for enterprise buyers and sellers as they seek to navigate liquidity through the crisis.

T&E Recovery: the barometer for commercial cards

The travel industry is especially hard hit by Coronavirus impacts and T&E together with fuel payments form the biggest slice of the commercial cards market. Spend has fallen dramatically and severely impacted the revenues of commercial card issuers. With global travel and aviation still restricted and expense budgets severely constrained, coupled with low demand for fuel, this segment is on a long road to recovery. In this webinar, we discuss the scale and impact of the fall in demand and spend, and the steps the industry can take to mitigate against loss, ongoing risks and rebuild markets.

Accelerating AP/AR Automation

Dramatic shifts in working patterns and practices due to pandemic disruption have highlighted the urgent need for remote teams to collaborate on AP/AR systems across organisations. Companies that are connected and logged on to payment systems that are linked to suppliers are executing business fast and efficiently and gaining competitive advantage. Critically, shortening DPO and cash conversion cycles is paramount in tight credit markets.  In this webinar we discuss how both payments and receivables processes can be optimised from remote situations and the solutions to help companies enable AP/AR efficiencies.
