Barclaycard partners with FreedomPay

UK-based Barclaycard has partnered with FreedomPay and has become a new acquiring partner of FreedomPay within Europe and the UK. According to the press release by FeedomPay, the partnership between them and Barclaycard will be able to provide seamless end-to-end payment experience to Barclaycard customers across sectors.

“This exciting new partnership shows our ambition to offer customers best-in-class payment solutions that help them grow,” said Nicole Olbe, Managing Director of Partnerships at Barclaycard. “The FreedomPay platform complements and enhances our own, and gives benefits to merchants – particularly in the hospitality and leisure sector to help them offer the best payment experience possible to their customers.”

The platform offered by FreedomPay supports merchants and enterprises worldwide, security, identity and payments with proprietary data-driven solutions. This partnership with these capabilities from FreedomPay will be available to Barclaycard customers. This will ensure more access to more payments methods and technologies to Barclaycard customers, the press release noted.

Last week, Barclaycard had extended its partnership with SAP to make its payments gateway product, Smartpay, available to SAP customers across Europe.

“We have ambitious expansion plans across Europe and Barclaycard is a critical acquiring partner of scale, with a reputation for trust and security, to help us with that journey,” said Chris Kronenthal, President at FreedomPay. “FreedomPay’s global reach is unique in the world of commerce and working with Barclaycard we will strengthen our capabilities across all continents. We are very excited to see the partnership prosper”.
