HSBC launches remote account opening for SMEs in Hong Kong
HSBC in Hong Kong has rolled out a remote business account opening process which is designed for small to medium-sized businesses. The opening of account can be done at any time and at any location without meeting or any tangible paperwork.
“This seamless account opening solution means quick and easy access for small companies and start-ups to reliable and convenient banking services, reaffirming our commitment to support [SMBs] in Hong Kong and drive digital innovation in banking,” said Daniel Chan, Head of Business Banking and Commercial Banking, HSBC.
Clients can integrate their account digitally and get an account number on the spot. The process for this is to make a profile, fill out the details and send in the necessary paperwork to support the details and put in single-use passcode which is sent by text message and prove their identity.
This will be first provided with Hong Kong SMB clients that have been operational for the past three years and the company says it will be then offered to more companies that have more international operations.
HSBC says this will be handled by the special team to handle the business account applications and contact clients to know about their details further.
