Infineon launches employee card with Mastercard payment integration

To promote compliance, as well as to automate employee spend, companies are looking for innovative ways to integrate payment options with their employees; either giving specific cards or virtual cards. This not only saves time but also increases the visibility of business spend.

This week, a German semiconductor company, Infineon has launched an employee card for its employees at its headquarters ‘Am Campeon’ with the contactless Mastercard payment function. This is the collaboration with Mastercard, PayCenter GmbH and petaFuel GmbH. The semiconductor company will be responsible for issuing and managing the employee card and with this employees can access the building and the workplace.

Due to the integration with the Mastercard payment function, employees can make transactions via contactless mode via NFC. The card uses the EMV standard and this will make the card work within the campus as well as the outside of the campus across 70 million Mastercard acceptance points worldwide.

“Payment service provider petaFuel is responsible for integrating the Mastercard payment function”, the press note said. The employees can also “use mobile payment app VIMpay to digitally link their card bank account to their company card for direct charging via their computer or cell phone”.
