Mollie launches platform for SaaS payments firms in Europe

Netherlands based payments software provider, Mollie has announced the launch of a new product, Connect for Platforms. This service is designed for online payments and marketplace platforms and the company notes that this will provide businesses and companies to integrate payments, onboard customers, and accept and route payments.

“The marketplace business model is gaining traction quickly and is now applicable to a host of different organizations of all sizes”, said Rogier Schoute, Mollie’s chief product officer.

In Europe, Medius partnered with Nomentia for global payments and cash management while Modulr partnered with Ripple for payments.

The company in its press release said that the API-based platform will help payments providers in the marketplace with an integrated payments solution that would enable onboarding and operational work. It will also as noted will verify both the marketplace and sellers with full know your customer (KYC) checks, saving time and reducing operational workload.

The platform will house configurable APIs to accept and route payments and will also have a suite of global and local payment methods which will, according to the company, help platforms increase and accelerate international expansion. This platform will also come with split payments which will allow clients to distribute payments to multiple sellers.
