Onyx CenterSource launches contactless virtual card solutions

Texas-based B2B payments company Onyx CenterSource has launched contactless virtual credit cards for its hospitality and travel clients. With virtual credit card payments, the sensitive information and data remain secure when payment is made and this also allows for enhanced security, the press release said.

Last month, WEX partnered with Onyx CenterSource for travel business payments wherein companies will use virtual payments method across transactions for more security in hotel and travel company industries.

“Virtual credit card payments are increasingly popular for their security and ease of use,” said Mark Dubrow, Onyx CenterSource CEO. “At Onyx, we’ve been monitoring virtual credit card capabilities closely. Offering these as an alternative form of payment to our clients, in lieu of paper cheques, will have benefits across the board, particularly as the hospitality industry recovers from the effects of Covid-19.”

Over and above security, the company said, virtual cards will offer increased control over accounts payable. Virtual credit card payments are automated on behalf of hotel clients and these will be sent to travel agencies, which makes this whole payment process automated and contactless.

Commercial Payments International reached out to Onyx CenterSource seeking clarification on who the company has partnered with to underwrite the virtual credit cards, but no reply has been forthcoming at time of publication.
