Paya launched payments platform for government entities

US-based non-bank payments firm Paya has announced the launch of PayaGov which is a company’s solution towards serving government entities, municipalities and service providers.

As noted in the press release, the company works with over 2,000 government agencies and municipalities in 24 states, processing over 8 million payments per year, and delivering over $1 billion in revenue to its government and municipal clients.

Last year, Paya partnered with Transcard to expand B2B offerings while in the same region, Paya and Paradigm partnered for a payments solution.

Its solutions enable entities to accept payments for water and gas utilities, property tax, courts fines, licenses, permits, and other municipal payment needs. The company claims with this solution it is engaging government entities for payments adoption while at the same time streamlining workflow for the entities.

“The launch marks the full integration of our First Billing Services and Payment Group brands, consolidating our government solutions and expertise”, said Ben Weiner, chief strategy officer at Paya.

Paya is an integrated payments solution provider for commercial businesses and works across different mediums such as credit/debit, ACH and check payments mode.
