Bank of the West to incorporate Zelle from Fiserv

As commercial payments space becomes more and more competitive. Banks are looking towards other financial technology companies to embrace and leverage their network to launch their products and services.

This week, Bank of the West, which is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, is incorporating Turnkey Service for Zelle: Small Business from Fiserv, the US-based payments company, which would enable Bank of the West’s small business customers to send and receive money ‘quickly and easily’, according to the press note.

Last year, BNP teamed up with Coupa Pay to launch its virtual card offerings while Bank of the West partnered with Brex to launch business credit cards.

“Small businesses are a priority for us, and we serve customers that range from startups to mid-level,” said Michelle Di Gangi, Executive Vice President and Head of Small Business & Medium Enterprise at Bank of the West. “It was essential that we offer an easy-to-use payments capability that was also cost-effective, as small businesses want to manage their time and expenses carefully.”

The bank is bringing Zelle payments to its small business customers of all sizes across a range of industries. It also noted that “working with Fiserv allowed the bank to reduce time to market, and this approach will provide the flexibility that will enable the bank to scale and adapt to future customer demand”.

Turnkey Service for Zelle: Small Business from Fiserv allows financial institutions to enable businesses with a US bank account to send, request and receive digital payments among customers and suppliers without cash or checks.
